Tyra and Isis
Not sure how many America’s Next Top Model fans will be reading this, but Isis was a recent top model contender with something a little extra: male body parts.
Never one to avoid controversy, Tyra is bringing Isis back for what will likely be the most risque episode of the Tyra Show thus far-footing the bill for Isis’ gender reassignment surgery AND filming it for America!
This is a horrible attempt to boost ratings, pure exploitation if you ask me. If Tyra really wants Oprah’s spot, she’s going to have to be a lil bit more serious.

So, you think Tyra’s exploiting Isis to boost ratings for her show?
I don’t watch Americas’ Next Top Model, so I don’t quite know what I’m talking about, but I get your point. Unless Isis is benefiting in some other way – like maybe getting her own show or job out of this? Other than that, I can’t believe that what has to be an extremely intense emotional and physical experience is going to be on TV.
On the other hand, is this helping the transgendered community? Depending on how Isis represents the issue, viewers might learn more about souls of one gender born in bodies of the other gender.

It is hard for me to take Tyra seriously. I love her, but also see view her as a joke and not a genuine person. The way she reacts to issues and even the way she interviews others-it seems like she’s more into drawing attention upon herself than the other person.
While it may help raise awareness for the transgendered community, I don’t necessarily believe that is the intent. I think it’s great that Tyra is finding a way to finance the operation, but an issue so personal should be done off camera. This seems to be a ploy to earn higher ratings.
